Custom Model of N929X Arrives!

I had always wanted a custom model of my plane with my paint, interior, etc. but it was too expensive. This year at Oshkosh, I decided that it was time to take the plunge. I ordered the top of the line model from Factory Direct Models with clear windows and a completely detailed interior.

I filled out a long questionnaire, emailed them many pictures of every angle of the interior and exterior. It helped that I had a 4 year builder's log. I got progress photos of the interior and exterior for approval. There were a few minor adjustments which they made quickly. I got emails to keep me up to date on the progress of the model's construction. Finally, I got an email that it had been shipped.
Incredibly, it arrived express from Manila in only a couple of days. I brought the box in my office right away to unwrap it.

The level of detail is incredible. Look at the paint work. It perfectly matches my colors and scheme.

The clear windows allow you to look in to see the interior. It is perfectly duplicated, with the exact instruments, PFD displays in color, stitching on the seats, etc.  Wow!

I am very pleased with the finished product. This will take its place on my desk at work tomorrow. I tend to have too much time in the office and not enough time with my plane. At least I will have this to remind me of one of the things I am working for. I fell in love with the looks of the Velocity the first time I saw it. Having built it, I was able to incorporate everything I wanted from the paint scheme to the interior, to the panel. This is my dream realized and its great to be able to appreciate it this way.
