We have an 8 month old Labradoodle named Molly. It was time to find out if she would be able to go on trips with us in the plane, so we took her out to the airport today. It was a gorgeous Fall day with perfect weather. In the picture above, Sean is holding a pair of Mutt Muffs - That's right, dog headsets.
We bought them at Oshkosh this year. The lady said not to even try them until we were in the plane with the engine running. Otherwise, the dog would keep taking them off. She said they might try to take them off once or twice in the plane, but would realize how much quieter it was with them on. You will see that Nancy has her fingers crossed.

We load up Nancy and the dog, then Sean.

We fire up the engine. Molly looks startled at first, but doesn't try to take her headset off any more.

We taxi out, complete our run up and Sean says we are ready to go!

Molly settles right in and does fine. She looks a little funny in the Mutt Muffs, kind of like a Muppet pilot from Sesame Street.

Sean gets some stick time. He did a really good job on some turns and level flight.

Final for Runway 29. The trees are at the peak of color. It's really pretty.

We taxi back to the hangar. Molly did a good job and is officially checked out to accompany us on our next trip.
