Repairs and Post Maintenance Flight Complete

I went out to the hangar last night and gave the repaired parts one more shot of paint, then installed them. The repaired area is on the top right in the top photo. That area was cut off and replaced with new glass. Not bad.

Here is the cowling repair. It involved a one inch square of new glass and a new countersunk hole. It also looks brand new.

I reassembled everything and cleaned up the hangar. It is full dark now and time to head home.

I got home a little early today and went out to the airport for a few touch and goes. The air show is tomorrow and I didn't want the lack of practice to show in landings at the air show in front of hundreds of spectators. The repairs look great and I double checked all the screws and other parts I had just reattached.

As you can see, it was very hazy and warm, but still great to be back in the air.

The Corn Maze, a sure sign of Fall. Click on the picture to see it just above the canard.

Back to the airport for a few touch and goes. Turns out I can still fly, so I'm ready for the show tomorrow. Back at the airport, a few of the monster trucks are already there. This should be fun.

More pictures and videos tomorrow from the show.
