BFR Success
I had my BFR this morning with Don Eicher, pictured above. He is an instructor at Chester County Airport and a former F4 Phantom pilot. I'm happy to say I passed the very thorough Biennial Flight Review he gave me.
It looked unpromising this morning with clouds and light rain. I figured I'd at least get the ground portion done and headed over to the airport. We spent an hour going over regulations, safety, decision making and charts. By the time we were done, the sun had come out.
We took off and did air work including slow flight and steep banks. I actually hit my own wake turbulence in completing the steep banks, meaning I had made a perfect circle and held altitude.
We then went back to the airport. I did a touch and go, then a spot landing, both of which went well. He next had me do a simulated engine out by pulling the power on downwind. I came up short the first time and had to go around. I got the second one just right.
All in all it was a great experience and helped sharpen my skills. I feel ready for the flying season.
Thanks Don!
