The main gear comes only temporarily installed with the fast build kit. You have to take it out, do all the heavy duty triax reinforcement lay ups and reinstall permanently. I hated this part. It turned out fine, but took a lot of what Andy Milin refers to as "fit and file" and my wife and I refer to as "jiggery pokery". This is a highly scientific term for getting things to work by a combination of techniques. You will find that fiberglass airplane parts seem to vary from side to side, part to part and even day to day. A builder friend had some good advice:
"Think of it as creating a sculpture of a plane".
